Stain Hybrid Brow Dye

What is Stain Hybrid Dye?

Stain is a Hybrid Dye professional brow colour consisting of half henna and half brow tint. Hybrid Dye offers the power and intensity of henna with the ease of a tint.

How long does Hybrid Dye last?

If you follow the correct aftercare, Brow Code Hybrid Dye leaves a stain on the skin for up to 10 days and on the brow hairs for up to 6 weeks.

Do you have instructions available?

The instructions for all our products are outlined under the product description on the website.

What is the before and aftercare for Stain Hybrid Dye?

Important Note: The Hybrid Dye stain can feel darker on the first day, however, please note this is an important step of the process as the stain continues to oxidize on the skin and settle into its finished shade. The stain will start to fade gradually as soon as the brows are wet.

  • Avoid using makeup and facial cleansers around the brow area for the following 24 hours.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, the use of sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming pools for 24 hours.
  •  Avoid exfoliating and using anti-aging products around the brow area for at least two to three days prior to and post-treatment.
  • Avoid using any self-tanning products on the face for around two to three days on either side of the treatment.
  • Avoid the temptation to over-touch the brow area after treatment. Touch with fingers can lead to oils entering open pores and clogging them.

Can I do Lamination and Stain in the same service?

Yes, you can pair Lamination and Stain Hybrid Dye in the same service. We recommend applying Stain in between steps 2 and 3 of the lamination process. Alternatively, you can Stain the brows 24 hours before or after completing the lamination treatment.

Is Stain Hybrid Dye safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

Stain Hybrid Dye is not safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women. There is a risk of the chemicals sinking into the skin and potentially entering the bloodstream. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding we recommend consulting with your healthcare professional.

What is the recommended service timing?

Application times vary 5-12 minutes depending on the desired intensity and results. We recommend a total time of 10 minutes, however, please watch the dye closely to see how the colour is processing. For the best result try removing the front of the brow after a few minutes for an ombre effect.

Does Stain Hybrid Dye last longer than Henna?

Stain Hybrid Dye and Henna both last up to 10 days on the skin, however, Stain lasts up to 6 weeks on the hairs and Henna lasts up to 4 weeks on the hairs. We always recommend offering both treatments in your brow studio or salon as the client may have a preference or find one or the other better for their skin type and skin.

Does Stain Hybrid Dye last longer than Tint?

Yes, however, we always recommend offering both treatments in your brow studio or salon as the client may have a preference or find one or the other better for their skin type and skin.

Airbrush & Stain Hybrid Brow Dye

What is Airbrush Brows?

The Airbrushed Brow is an advanced application technique where a finely controlled mist of Stain Hybrid Dye is sprayed onto the eyebrows. This innovative method offers a faster and more efficient way to apply Stain, resulting in a natural and long-lasting finish. The precision of the Airbrush ensures evenly coloured, beautifully defined eyebrows with clean, crisp lines and subtle gradient effects.

Is Stain Airbrush Brows safe?

Yes, when performed by a trained professional. We advise a patch test before the service due to potential individual reactions.

What formulas is the Brow Code Airbrush Machine compatible with?

Brow Code Stain Hybrid Dye and Liquid Oxidant.

Is Stain compatible with other Airbrush Machines?

We cannot guarantee that Stain will work as effectively with other Airbrush Machines.

Does Stain Dye the brow hairs and how long does it last?

Stain Hybrid Dye colours both the skin and the brow hair leaving a flawless brow stain for up to 10 days on the skin and up to 6 weeks on the hair when used with the Airbrush or brush application method. The longevity depends on factors such as the client's skin type, pH level, lifestyle, skincare routine, and environmental influences. Additionally, the artist's application technique and aftercare can definitively impact the final result.

How much time is typically needed for an Airbrush Stain appointment?

An Airbrush Stain session typically ranges from 30 to 45 minutes. The time may vary if hair removal or a full brow map and sculpt are required to achieve the desired look.

How much should I charge for this service?

Due to varying circumstances, we are unable to provide specific pricing advice. We recommend taking into account your target demographic, the time required to perform the service, the cost of materials utilized in the process, your personal level of expertise and experience, the level of competition within your locality, as well as the existing market prices for similar services.

What is the mixing ratio for Stain with an Airbrush?

We recommend a 1:1 ratio of Stain with Liquid Oxidant 3%, or approximately 8 drops Stain to 8 drops Liquid Oxidant. If Stain is applied in a slow and controlled manner, this amount should be sufficient. For a more pigmented and longer lasting finish our founder, Melanie Marris recommends a 2:1 mixing ratio or 10 drops Stain to 5 drops Liquid Oxidant.

How many pressure modes does the Brow Code Airbrush Machine have?

The Brow Code Airbrush Machine features 5 adjustable speed settings, ranging from minimum to maximum.

How do I set up the Airbrush Gun for Stain use?

  1. Press the ON button to turn on/off the air pump
  2. Begin by running water through the Airbrush for approximately 15 seconds.
  3. Adjust the dial to allow a 2-3 mm opening, which controls the Stain's airflow.
  4. Perform a test spray on a cotton round to check for even dispensing. Test across all pressure modes. We recommend using your machine on the lowest setting.
  5. Once you achieve an even spray, the Airbrush is ready for use.

What is the recommended distance to hold the Airbrush gun from the brows?

Maintain a distance of 5-10 cm from the brows during application. The closer the airbrush to the skin, the smaller the pixels and more defined the result. The further the airbrush is from the skin, the larger the pixels and softer the result.

How do I clean the Airbrush Machine?

You can use water or isopropyl alcohol for this purpose. Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of the machine. We recommend cleaning after each use and again at the end of the day. Please refer to your manufacturer instructions for the specified cleaning directions.

Can I switch between colours without cleaning the Brow Code Airbrush Machine each time?

The Brow Code Airbrush Machine comes with 4 refillable cannisters so you can have multiple colours ready to use without stopping to clean. However, we recommend cleaning the Brow Code Airbrush Machine after each use.

  3. Continue from the arch to the tail at a downward angle.
  4. Press firmly on the stencil with your fingers or the back of tweezers to prevent product seepage.
  5. Apply the top stencil if desired, ensuring it is symmetrical and secure.

Additionally, they are designed for easy and gentle removal, preventing any pain typically associated with adhesive products on sensitive skin areas like the brows.

How do I choose the right stencil shape for my brows?

Select a stencil that closely resembles your natural brow shape or the shape you desire. The pack includes multiple designs to experiment with different brow looks.

Eyebrow Lamination

What is lamination?

Brow Lamination is designed to straighten the brow hairs, resulting in full, lifted, and fluffy brows.

How does lamination work?

Professional Brow Lamination is a simple 3 step process. Step 1 of the treatment breaks down the bonds in each hair, enabling them to change shape. Step 2 then remodels the hair bond into its new shape. Finally, Step 3 replenishes moisture in both the brows and the skin.

How long does lamination last?

Results will last up to 8 weeks. To ensure optimal longevity, brush and set brows in place daily and follow the recommended aftercare guidelines. We recommend applying Brow Gold Nourishing Growth Oil daily to restore moisture to the brows.

Can I laminate and tint in the same service?

Yes, Brow Lamination can be easily paired with Brow Tint in one service. We recommend applying Tint after step 2 of the Brow Lamination treatment has been removed. The brow hair will be more receptive to the Tint and should be left on for no more than 5 minutes. Brow Tint can also be performed 24 hours before or after the Brow Lamination service.

Are all brow types suitable for lamination?

Brow Lamination has been specifically developed for every hair type. Always consult with your client first to ensure they have no contraindications to lamination.

Can you apply makeup immediately after a brow lamination?

For optimal results, we recommend avoiding applying any products on or around the brows for 24 hours after the treatment. This includes brow makeup, sunless tanning products, and skincare products.

Is lamination safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

No, Brow Lamination should not be used on anyone pregnant or breastfeeding. We recommend anyone who is pregnant consult with their healthcare provider.

Will I experience irritation with brow lamination?

Professional Brow Lamination is formulated to be gentle on the skin and hair. If any stinging or swelling occurs, apply a cold compress to soothe and seek medical attention.

Eyebrow Henna

What is henna?

Henna is a more natural approach to brow tinting. Henna is a natural dye made from a plant known as hina or the henna tree. The purpose of this is to cast a shadow or create an illusion of depth and fullness in the area.

How long does henna last?

If you follow the correct aftercare, Brow Code Henna lasts up to 10 days on the skin and up to 4 weeks on the brow hairs. Please follow all instructions and aftercare correctly to achieve this longevity.

Do you have instructions available?

The instructions for all our products are outlined under the product description on the website.

What is the correct aftercare for henna?

By following the correct aftercare, you can achieve longer-lasting henna results. We’ve compiled a list of our go-to aftercare tips, which should be followed for 24 to 48 hours post-treatment:

  • Do not rub the treated area.
  • Avoid heat treatments.
  • Do not apply brow makeup.
  • Avoid sunbathing and sun exposure.
  • Avoid swimming, saunas, and sweating.
  • Do not exfoliate the brow area as this will cause the Henna to fade quicker.
  • Exposure to the sun and UV lights for long periods will cause the henna to fade quicker.
  • Apply Brow Code Brow Growth Oil daily to keep brows nourished and healthy.
  • Do not apply Retin-A, AHA, or exfoliate around the brow area for 72 hours on either side of the treatment.

Can I do lamination and henna in the same service?

We do not recommend pairing lamination and henna together. Lamination causes the hair to become incredibly porous, which causes henna to react extremely fast. Henna requires a long developing time, which means the brow hairs will over process before the stain has a chance to develop. If you would like to offer both services together, we advise completing the process across 2 separate days, which will give the lamination 24 hours to develop before applying the henna.

Is henna safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

Henna is not safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women. There is a risk of the chemicals sinking into the skin and potentially entering the bloodstream. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding we recommend consulting with your healthcare professional.

What is the recommended service timing?

The total developing time for henna is 15 to 20 minutes. Simply apply the first layer of henna to your brow to create the shape and follow with the second brow. Apply a second layer to each brow and keep the area moist by applying small amounts of henna paste or Rose Water to the brow. Please note that you cannot let the henna dry during this process as it will stop developing and impact your results.

Eyebrow Tint

What is tint?

Eyebrow tinting is the process of applying semi-permanent dye to enhance, shape, and define your brows. Our richly pigmented tint range stains the skin as well as the brow hairs.

How long does tint last?

Brow Code Tint lasts up to 7 days on the skin and up to 3 to 4 weeks on the brow hairs. Please follow all instructions and aftercare correctly to achieve this longevity.

Do you have instructions available?

The instructions for all our products are outlined under the product description on the website.

What is the before and aftercare for tint?

By following the correct aftercare, you can achieve longer-lasting tint results. We’ve compiled a list of our go-to aftercare tips, which should be followed for 24 to 48 hours post-treatment:

  • Avoid using makeup and facial cleansers around the brow area.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, the use of sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming pools.
  • Avoid exfoliating and using anti-aging products around the brow area.
  • Avoid using any self-tanning products on the face for around two-three days on either side of the treatment.
  • Avoid the temptation to over-touch the brow area after treatment. Touching with hands/fingers can lead to oils entering opening pores and clogging them.

Can I do lamination and tint in the same service?

Yes, you can pair lamination and tint in the same service. We recommend applying tint in between steps 2 and 3 of the lamination process. Alternatively, you can tint the brows 24 hours before or after completing the lamination treatment.

Is tint safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

Brow Code Tint is not safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women. There is a risk of the chemicals sinking into the skin and potentially entering the bloodstream. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding we recommend consulting with your healthcare professional.

Do you have instructions available?

The instructions for all our products are outlined under the product description on the website.

The Professional Design & Define Hot Wax can be evenly heated sitting between 3 to 4 on a standard 1L wax warmer. The Microwaveable Brow Wax generally takes 80 seconds to heat up, however, please note that this will vary depending on the microwave's wattage.

Is Brow Wax safe to use for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

Yes, Brow Wax is safe to use for pregnant and breastfeeding women. However, please always consult with a doctor or medical professional prior to use.

Permanent Makeup

How many services does one Brow Code Li pigment bottle offer?

For permanent cosmetics, only a tiny amount of pigment is necessary to produce colours. Typically no more than a gram of pigment is doled out per procedure. Each 15ml bottle will pour 30 small pigment caps.

Do the pigments work for any procedure method (manual or machine)?

Yes! Brow Code’s PMU line has been specifically designed to suit all kinds of machine and hand tool procedure methods.

Can I mix Brow Code Li pigments with other brands?

No, we do not recommend mixing different pigment brands with Brow Code Li pigments.

What is the shelf life of the pigment?

If you leave the pigment unopened, the product has a shelf life of three to ten years if kept in the correct storage conditions (please see our recommended storage conditions below). However, once you have opened the pigment, the product must be discarded after 12 months.

What is the best way to store my pigments?

We recommend storing the pigments in temperatures ranging between 5-25°C/41-77°F. To maximise the shelf life of the pigments, the product should always be stored in a cool, dry location, where UV rays are avoided.

Are the pigments vegan?

Yes! The Brow Code Li PMU line is vegan, cruelty-free, and PETA certified.

Are the pigments sterilized?

Yes, our raw pigments are sterilized to ensure the formulation’s quality is preserved.

Do I need to do a patch test?

Yes, we always recommend patch testing before performing any form of brow service. A patch test should be performed a minimum of 7-10 days before introducing pigment into the skin by a qualified individual. If a client does have any form of reaction, discontinue use.

What is each pigment shade’s ingredient list?

The ingredients are listed under the product page of the pigments on the website.

Do the pigments contain nut oils?

Brow Code Li PMU line does not contain nut oils.

Are the Brow Code Li Pigments organic or inorganic?

The Brow Code colours were formulated using both organic and inorganic colorants. The pigments are considered a blend of both; i.e. hybrid.

Are the pigments pre-neutralized?

Yes, the pigments are pre-neutralized. The pigments were specifically developed to avoid the colours aging with different shade bases. If the correct colour is used on the appropriate skin tone, the colour will heal into a lighter and softer version of the shade used.

Do the pigments splatter or pool?

No, they don't. Once the needle begins its reciprocating motion, the pigment flows easily through the cartridge without splattering or pooling which makes it visually easier to see the placement of the colour during the procedure implantation. However, with the use of the hand tool, the formulations were developed to cling to the needle which allows for less dipping during the procedure.

Can these pigments be used on eyebrows, breasts/nipples, and to camouflage scars?

The selection of pigments available in the Brow Code Li Pigment PMU line is focused on the eyebrow area. It offers a limited colour selection for nipple-areola and camouflage.

Is this product safe to use for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

Microblading is not recommended for pregnant women as this is a form of skin-invasive, cosmetic tattooing procedure. Consult with your doctor prior to procedure.

A stockist is a professional stylist or salon owner who sells the Brow Code retail range within their salon to their clients. Any stylist who has a registered professional trade account on our website has access to becoming a stockist. Please note that our retail products are only allowed to be sold in salons and not online. Our professional range is not allowed to be stocked and resold.

A distributor is a professional business that works with Brow Code HQ to supply stockists within their country or territory, as well as selling to the consumer market.

How do I become a distributor?

Please email partnerships@browcode.com any distributor inquiries. Please be sure to include details of your business, website, and social media handles.

If I run a training academy, do you offer any education discounts?

You can put forth an application to receive education discounts by emailing us your proposal and social media handles and business website.

Which salons near me use Brow Code?

We are so excited that you are interested in Brow Code signature brows! We, unfortunately, do not keep a registry of salons and businesses that use Brow Code, but what we recommend is jumping onto Instagram and searching for local salons in your area. Our Brow Code Fam posts their amazing work and tags us frequently so you will be able to see which salons near you offer Brow Code. You can always reach out and ask them directly too or please join our group ‘Brow Code Fam’ on Facebook and post your question.

Loyalty Program

How do I sign up for the rewards program?

Simply create your Brow Code Professional account. It’s free to join and you will automatically receive points with every purchase. If you currently have an account or email subscription with us - you’ve already been enrolled in our rewards program so you can kick back, sign in, and start earning Points!

I already have an account. Do I need to create a new one to earn rewards?

We took care of that for you! All customers with an active Brow Bank Rewards account were automatically enrolled in our rewards program. If you have had more than one customer account with us, please note that only one rewards account was created per person.

Where can I find all of my rewards account info?

The rewards page is your roadmap to all your points and perks. You can access all your info by visiting our rewards page onsite.

What if I have an old email address or multiple email addresses and want to combine my accounts & earnings?

Contact customer service and our team will be happy to assist you with merging your accounts.

Does it cost anything to begin earning points?

Absolutely not! Sign up is 100% free. Make sure to visit the rewards page to get started.

How do I redeem my rewards points?

Rewards points can be redeemed during the checkout process. Before checking out, ensure that you are signed in to your account.

How do points convert to dollars?

Every 300 points you earn will equate to a $15 discount that you can apply at checkout. You’ll earn 1 point for every $1.00 spent in our Professional Store.

Higher tiers will earn more points at a quicker rate, but 300 points will always equate to $15.

Is there a limit to how many points I can earn?

Nope!  That’s the best part about being a rewards member!  You will always have an opportunity to earn more points by shopping with us, engaging with our brand and community online, and through seasonal sales.

Can I return my order if I redeemed rewards points for a discount?

Yes. If you are returning the entire order, we will refund you the total dollar amount spent after the discount was applied. The points you used to redeem the discount will also be added back into your rewards account.

I've earned points/VIP tier with my last purchase, but now I want to return it. What will happen to my reward?

If you use your rewards towards a purchase and later decide to return that item, your rewards will be credited back to your rewards account. For example, if you use $10 coupon towards a $100 purchase that you decide to return, the $90 balance will be refunded on your credit card and the $10 reward credit will be deposited back into your rewards account.

Do points ever expire?

Your points will expire after one year of inactivity. Inactivity includes not interacting with our program i.e., redeeming points, placing an order, etc

How is my VIP tier determined?

Your VIP tier is determined by the amount you’ve spent. All Professional Store members will start at the Bronze tier immediately upon signup.

To enter the Silver tier, you must spend $495.

To enter the Gold tier, you must spend $825 (or $330+ after you enter Silver).

Once you qualify, you will instantly move up and have access to that tier's perks for the next 12 months. Once you are in your new tier, you will be in that tier for one year from the date you earned it. Make sure to keep interacting with our program to maintain your status (or even move up a tier)!

What are the benefits of being a Silver tier customer?

For as long as you’re in Silver status, you’ll immediately qualify for a Brow Code Professional birthday gift, and annual anniversary gift, you’ll be given exclusive access to sales & new product launches and you’ll earn 1.5 points for every $1 spent!

What are the benefits of being a Gold tier customer?

How do I know which Rewards tier I am currently a member of?

When you are signed into your rewards account, your rewards page will list all of the rewards tiers. Your current tier and perks will be highlighted with a box around it.

How will I know when I have reached a new tier?

When your total points cross a tier threshold you will receive an email welcoming you into the new tier.

I should have earned points for a purchase/incentive but I didn’t see my account balance change. Did I get credit?

Yes!  You work hard to earn points and we want you to feel confident that all of your points are right where they should be . . . in your account!  The first thing to note is that there may be a delay in our systems communicating and points could take anywhere from minutes to several hours to appear in your account.  However, if you feel like you have earned points but they are not showing up in your account you can also troubleshoot it with these tricks:

  • Try to refresh your browser.
  • Try to log out and then back in to your account.
  • Check your ‘Rewards history’ in your Rewards account to see if the points were added without you realizing it.  Your ‘Rewards history’ will show you the number of points earned, how and when they were earned, as well as any redemptions of points made on your account.

If you still feel like your points balance is not accurate you can contact our team and they will look into the issue for you.

Why didn’t I earn points on my purchase?

Double-check you were signed into your rewards account and didn’t accidentally check out as a guest. You must be logged in when making purchases to earn points. If you have done this in error, contact us at hello@browcode.com to help apply your points to your account. You also won’t receive points if you return your purchase or your purchase is cancelled for any reason. Please note that any points you earn on a purchase you later return will be deducted from your point balance.

Can I use Loyalty points and receive free shipping in the same order?

Customers that redeem loyalty points as part of their order are eligible to receive free shipping if the value of the order exceeds the free shipping threshold, after all discounts and loyalty points have been applied.
